My Very Own Album...

My sister-in-law, Liz, had this on her facebook page and I felt like wasting time so I did it. This is my "band's" first "album." It made me laugh.

So just in case you feel like wasting time, too, here are the rules:

1 - Go to Wikipedia. Hit “random”
or click here
The first random Wikipedia article you get is the name of your band.

2 - Go to Quotations Page and select "random quotations"
or click here
The last four or five words of the very last quote on the page is the title of your first album.

3 - Go to Flickr and click on “explore the last seven days”
or click here
Third picture, no matter what it is, will be your album cover.

4 - Use Photoshop or similar to put it all together.

I thought it was pretty funny.

OOooh...It's a Contest Thingy...

The first five people...
to leave a comment on this blog will receive something made by me.
However there are some limitations:

1. I make no guarantee that you will like what I make :)
2. What I create will be just for you
3. It will be done within a year (might take a while)
4. You have no clue what it is going to be
5. I reserve the right to do something really fun

Here the catch: if you choose to do this, you must post this on your blog and be ready to make something for five people too. This will be fun! When you receive the fabulous item I make you, you must post a picture of it on your blog.

Big Boy Bed...

When we moved, we were too tired to put the crib rails back on Logan's crib, so we put him in the pack-n-play for a few nights. Then when we finally were ready to put the rails back up, we couldn't find our tool kit. Ah, the joys of moving.

So Logan stayed in the pack-n-play for the last month or so while his crib still had the base assembled with the mattress on it (I think only Lisa and Dan will know what I'm talking about...thanks SO MUCH for the crib, guys. You rock my world!). Basically, it is a make-shift toddler bed. And a few nights ago, we decided to try it out.

We have now made it through four naps and (so far) three nights of sleeping big-boy style in a real bed! Naps aren't a problem...Logan actually goes down really well and just comes downstairs after a few hours when he is is done napping. Night time is a little different...but we're working on it. I rest my head on the bed until Logan is calm enough (i.e. not jumping on the bed, trying to get down and play with toys, etc) to fall asleep and I usually leave just before he nods off. It's usually about ten to fifteen minutes so it's not that big of a deal. And I'm praying that this is only temporary and he will put himself to sleep sooner rather than later.

As far as falling out of bed, it hasn't happened yet. Last night before Zac and I went to bed we did check on him and found him asleep in front of his door, but that definitely wasn't from falling out. I moved him right back into his bed and he didn't stir one bit. And then tonight, it was vice-versa. When I left the room, Logan perked right up and started banging on the closed door and cried a bit. Then when I went up 20 minutes later expecting him to be asleep on the floor, I found him in his bed wrapped in his blanket, snoring away. So far, so good!

In other news, I had a baby appointment on Friday. Everything is looking great so far. I opted for the triple screen blood test and should get the results by the end of this week. I also set up the ultrasound appointment...March 4th! That will be 20 weeks and 4 days. And no, we're still not finding out the gender. Deal with it!!!! It is way more fun...and I recommend everyone do it at least once!

Well, I have a ton of homework for the crappiest class ever...English Grammar. But all I need to do is pass. C's get degrees, right?!?!?!

Valentine's Day 2009

I lucked out this year...I had two guys vying to get me as their Valentine:

And they both started early. When They picked me up from class on Thursday, Logan gave me a bouquet of a dozen red roses. Not wanting to be showed up by his son, Zac brought home another dark pink dozen on Friday when he came home from work. And then they both decided they could share me, so they went out Saturday morning and got me a THIRD dozen that were light pink AND a giant balloon (though I'm pretty sure Logan has claimed the balloon as his).

I'm pretty lucky!

And then the best part of V-Day: the food. For breakfast, we had "bullseyes" (toast with a hole in the middle filled with a fried egg). I didn't get a picture, but we used heart-shaped cookie cutters for the center. They were adorable. Then we had a heart-shaped pizza for lunch:

And instead of going out for dinner (we figured it would be way too busy), we made plans last week with our friends Thomas and Theresa (and their boys, Parker and Evan). I made chicken french with penne and spinach and Theresa made this amazing frozen strawberry dessert. Topped it off with a bottle of Cranberry-Apple Martinelli's and it was a WONDERFUL evening with great friends. Hope yours was just as special!

Sunday Snapshot...

Apparently Logan was so tired this afternoon that he climbed up in bed with Zac, snuggled into my sweater, and fell asleep. He's so freaking precious!

Sunday (September)Snapshots...

So these are actually from last September, but I randomly discovered them on one of our memory cards. It was a beautiful fall day and we headed up to the canyon for a picnic. And maybe some playing in the Provo River...

I can't believe how little Logan looks in these and they were only 5 months ago...he's growing up so fast!

This Just In from a NY Times Best-Seller...

This Guy (or his personal bio here), read some of my YA novel this evening. And he said he was impressed. EEEEEEEEEE!!!!

It wasn't enough that Carol Lynch Williams liked my work and encouraged me to continue, but now I have two published authors telling me I can do this.

I'm on cloud nine.

EEEE!!!!!

Blond Moment Times Two...

One of the things that is great about my relationship with my husband is we tend to balance each other out. When one of us is upset or stressed, the other is usually upbeat and happy and cheering the other up. When one is sick, the other is perfectly fine taking care of the house, and Logan, and the sick spouse. And when one of us is being stupid, the other usually is able to back up the brain power. But tonight, we were clearly both off.

I went to Theresa's for dinner when Zac called me to say that he, in fact, would need a ride to work. I debated leaving Logan to play with Parker while taking Zac to work, but it was already after 8:00 so I figured the best idea would just be to pack up and head home to pick up Zac. We said our goodbyes and drove home. When we got home, Zac jumped in the car, and I took him to campus where he would be working until 1:00 am. Well, when I left campus and started the drive home, a thought occurred to me and I called Zac:

Me: Can you answer a question for me?
Zac: Sure. What's up?
Me: Instead of me driving all over the place, why didn't you just take the car so you'll have a way to get home at 1:00?
Zac: Wow. We're retarded.
Me: Pretty much.

So I'm at home with a sleeping baby and a car that I don't have to take anywhere, while Zac is at work and will probably end up walking 2.5 miles home 3 hours from now.

And we both feel like doofuses. But doofuses in love, none the less.
